On Thursday, 29th October, I Choose Birmingham will be hosting an intimate, one-off event at Opus Restaurant, with award-winning whisky from Glenfiddich as part of the 'I Choose Live' series of events.
We invite you on a journey into Autumn, with six courses of seasonal game; each expertly matched to an accompanying Glenfiddich whisky. Head chef Ben Ternet will be on hand to tell you about the significance of each dish, whilst Glenfiddich brand ambassador Mark Thompson will be embarking on his first visit to Birmingham to explain about each whisky, as well as giving you a little bit of background on the brand and the historic importance of one of the few family owned distilleries left.
There are only 30 tickets available at £125 (not including booking fee) per person and include all food and the six accompanying whiskies, expertly matched to each course.
6:30pm - Meet in the private reception area of Opus Restaurant's plush bar to enjoy a casual drink and mingle with the other guests.
7:00pm - Our first course (and accompanying whisky) will be bought out, with a guided talk through the ingredients and the flavour profile of our first whisky.
7.15pm - Guests will move into the private dining room for the remainder of the evening
9.30pm - Dinner will finish and the bar will open again for drinks.
1.) Selection of cured game with autumn fruit jellies and Glenfiddich Straight Malt
2.) Roasted partridge broth, braised leg and Suffolk chorizo tortellini and Glenfiddich 15 year old
3.) Terrine of Yorkshire game, fig jam, toasted brioche and Glenfiddich 15 year old
4.) Braised wood pigeon and Evesham apple ‘pie’, squash puree and juniper jus and Glenfiddich 12 year old
5.) Roasted loin of highland estate venison, caramelised parsnips, potato gallette, quince puree and Glenfiddich 18 year old
6.) Dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut crumb, ginger and vanilla ice cream and Glenfiddich 21 year old
Coffee and the Glenfiddich 26 year old to be enjoyed on its own.
