Description

Whether you've yet to enter the world of podcasting or want to improve your current project, this talk will help you along the way. Learn how to improve your production and presentation techniques, how to get your podcast onto iTunes, how to increase your subscribers and how to monetise your podcast.

Join Olly Mann, co-host of Answer Me This!, Jason Phipps, head of audio at the Guardian, and Caroline Crampton, assistant editor of the New Statesman, for a lively and revealing discussion on the medium.

  • Free non-/alcoholic drinks upon arrival & throughout the networking part of the evening
  • Panel discussion with the three experts, with dedicated q&a time
  • Ask the speakers more specific questions during one-to-one chats at the end of the event, and network with other likeminded attendees

Olly Mann began podcasting in 2007, as co-host/producer of comedy series Answer Me This!, which went on to win three Radio Academy Awards, was adapted into a book published by Faber, and continues to entertain 130,000 regular listeners. He now also hosts three other podcasts: The Modern Mann, a weekly magazine show; The Media Podcast, the online talking shop for the UK’s TV, print and digital media industries; and The Week Unwrapped, a current affairs discussion programme made with The Week magazine. He has presented live radio shows for LBC, Magic, and 5 Live, and also hosted two series for BBC Radio 4: The Male Room and Podcasting: The First Ten Years.

As head of audio at the Guardian, Jason Phipps spends his waking hours creating podcasts and audio that capture the insight, wit and wisdom of our journalism.

Caroline Crampton is assistant editor of the New Statesman. She writes a weekly podcast column, and co-hosts the weekly pop culture podcast SRSLY.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
