Hometown Sessions is a series of sound system sessions in Glasgow, Scotland, promoting the highest quality of sound system music to provide meditative, uplifting & bass filled vibes in a safe, accepting and non discriminatory environment. The African Arts Centre are kindly hosting these dances until 6am with an array of musical guests from near & far planned over the coming months. Session #1 provides musical talent from:

- YT (Sativa Records, Ashanti Yard)
One of the best in the UK business, veteran rub a dub MC YT will be performing a special "One the Hard Way" set, toasting his own selections straight from vinyl.

- Greenlight Sound System ft. Benjammin (Barcelona)
The Greenlight crew specialise in dubplates and heavy dub. Travelling all the way from Barcelona, Catalonia, they are no strangers to the dancehall arena, holding residencies at Rototom, International Dub Gathering and recently performing with their sound system at Aba-Shanti-I's legendary University of Dub session in London.

- Tenement Sounds
Long time supporters of the Glasgow dub/reggae/sound system scene, Alex and Christo will be providing a dubwise warm up on the night. Expect anything from rocksteady to rub a dub to dancehall and roots.

- Hometown Promotion Sound System
As always, MC Campeazi + selectors Welshy & James will be controlling the dance in a Hometown style - rub a dub, roots, dancehall, rocksteady, ska & heavier bass styles. The Hometown sound system will be in the place to provide the necessary bass frequencies.

The AAC is located on Broomloan Road in Ibrox and is around 5 minutes walk from Ibrox Subway Station. The last subway out is at 2330, and the first train home is at 0630.
