    Description

The QNI's Homeless and Inclusion Health Network meetings are an opportunity for people working within the sector to come together monthly to connect and give service updates on what’s happening around the country. Nurses working with the homeless population, asylum seekers, refugees, and the GRTBS (Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Boater, and Showman) communities are welcome to join.

It is a place to share good practice, challenges, ideas for innovation, discuss the latest policy updates, hear/give presentations, etc. and get advice and support from others. We welcome anyone working in the sector.

In this meeting, we will hear from Susie James who is a Public Health Programme Manager at Sutton Council, Katie Corbett, who is a Public Health Project Support Officer, and Clare Ridsdill-Smith, Head of Public Health Integration. Katie, Susie, and Clare's work involves significantly improving the health and wellbeing, and reducing health inequalities of Sutton borough’s population.

Katie's team have designed and created a guide on temporary accommodation.

The guide aims to help individuals to:

      • Understand the immediate things they need to do.
      • Learn more about local services like the Pod where they can get housing, finance and health advice.
      • Adapt to life in emergency or temporary accommodation, and find local services (in and out of borough).
