Description
Meetings are an opportunity for people working within the sector to come together monthly to connect and give service updates on what’s happening around the country. Anyone working with the homeless population, asylum seekers, refugees, and the GRTBS (Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Boater, and Showman) communities are welcome to join.
It is a place to share good practice, challenges, ideas for innovation, discuss the latest policy updates, hear/give presentations, etc. and get advice and support from others. We welcome anyone working in the sector.
Join us for our upcoming Homeless & Inclusion Health network meeting, where we will hear about young carers, a vulnerable group who are often at risk of homelessness.
Fiona Rogers, The QNI's Nursing Programmes Manager- Innovation, will be talking about her work with young carers. Fiona has over 15 years of experience working with young carers, and is committed to improving outcomes & reducing health inequalities for this vulnerable group.
We will also hear from Claire Briston who is the Impact and Policy Director at Newcastle Carers. This organisation have developed videos raising awareness about carers of all ages. At this network meeting, Claire will be sharing more about these videos and the work of Newcastle Carers.
Ruth Evans, is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Reading. Ruth has carried out research on the relationship between care, inequality and wellbeing of transnational families in Europe. We will hear about the findings of this research in this meeting
