Description
meetings are an opportunity for people working within the sector to come together monthly to connect and give service updates on what’s happening around the country. Nurses working with the homeless population, asylum seekers, refugees, and the GRTBS (Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Boater, and Showman) communities are welcome to join.
It is a place to share good practice, challenges, ideas for innovation, discuss the latest policy updates, hear/give presentations, etc. and get advice and support from others. We welcome anyone working in the sector.
In this meeting, We will hear from 3 different sets of speakers.
1. Dr Gary Colman and Finbar Macdonald-Westall from Game Therapy, will be speaking about the work they do with the homeless population. They will touch on trends, insights around the mental health needs in this community, and some of the outcomes from game therapy.
2. Eva bell is a participation officer at the Samaritans. Eva will be presenting on her work, which involves exploring suicide prevention support for people with no fixed address.
3. We will also hear from a group of researchers at Bolton University and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, who work in the Homeless and Vulnerable Adults team. The group will be presenting the findings from their research on health inclusion and health equity.
