HI-FIDELITY combines the four core elements of hip-hop (turntablism, MCing, graffiti & breakdancing) under one roof, featuring some of the freshest names in UK hip-hop in an up-close and personal environment whilst providing a platform for local talent to break through.
Our first ever event sees two of the most up and coming names in UK hip-hop join forces alongside a DJ and producer well known for forging beats for some of the most renowned artists in the game today.
SMELLINGTON PIFF
Smellington Piff began his musical career as a a techno DJ at the age of 6 (Yes, 6!) He gained the Guinness world record title of youngest DJ in the world and spent years touring around the world before putting down the cans and picking up the mic at age 13.
The group NLP (OAB, Sean Peng, Eric The Red & Smellington Piff) formed in 2012 and after hearing some of their recordings, Leaf Dog began working with Smellington on his first album, 'Notice of Eviction', which was released in December 2014.
"With verses from Leafy himself, Jack Jetson, Fliptrix, Verb T and BVA as well as vocals from Rag 'n' Bone Man, the album is bound to get some decent attention. JACK JETSON
Jack released his 'High Five' E.P in 2012 as a free download and from there worked with Leaf Dog on the album 'Adventures of Johnny Strange' which dropped on Leaf Dog & B.V.A's own label, R.L.D Records in May 2014.
"The entire album is wrapped up with stellar production values; each beat reverberates around your ears to superbly re-imagined soul classics. The Nottingham native drills the whole sound home with his rhythmic flow and a bag full of similes, metaphors and analogies so spot on you'll find yourself using them yourself without realising. MISS TWIST
Bristol based MC hailing from the welsh hills, Miss Twist isn't unfamiliar to the microphone. As well as performing hip-hop sets in Bristol, and MCing over the sets of numerous local DJ's, most recently for the Rawkus crew at Black House in September 2014, she also has a number of her own top notch hip-hop and grime productions featuring on her Soundcloud.

MOOSE-HERDA (hip-hop set)
Beatbox and MC duo - it does not get fresher than these two. After they're debut performance at Rawkus XL in November 2014, they took to the mic once again in Bristol the following weekend, energising crowds with Herdas intricate beats and sounds gelling with the off-the-cuff flow of Aberystwyth's own Lone:MC. Their impressive live performances and recordings in the pipelines are sure to set them on their way to making a presence in the scene.
HIDDEN ELEMENT
Disc jockey and jack of all styles, Hidden Element is a common name on any local line-up, mainly known for playing drum & bass and most recently for spinning hip-hop records, fuelling the towns thirst for bars and beats.

Mid Wales' own DJing duo, known for displaying an array of genres and incorporating turntablism and hip-hop acapellas into their sets on 3 turntables, will be doing an old school hip-hop set to kick things off.

We're looking for Mid Wales' next talent on the microphone and giving one MC the opportunity to show their talent on stage, supporting Jack Jetson & Smellington Piff. If your'e a keen hip-hop MC then don't miss out on this.
All you have to do is post a short video of you performing your own bars to the event page. The beats don't have to be your own but the bars do. Alternatively, you can send in a recording of your own original track. We'd prefer the video to be between 2 and 5 minutes long.
The winner will get the chance to play a 30 minute set a the event, with either your own DJ or one provided by us. Our judges will decide the winner on Monday 23rd February, which gives you 3 weeks to send in your videos and a further 11 days to get linked up with our DJ (if necessary) and prepare for your set.
Remember to spread the word and share this post if you know anyone else that might be interested in giving it a shot! We want to this to reach all nooks and crannies of the welsh hip-hop community!

There will be only FIFTY advance tickets on sale for this event, available for just £6. Once they're gone, they're gone and you'll have to grab yours on the door for £8. Tickets will be available to purchase from the Students' Union Bar and Andy's Records.
