We're excited to host a very special event at CasildART: "HER TO HER", a series of intimate conversations between remarkable women - artists, curators, writers and entrepreneurs - working across the arts and cultural sector.

This event marks the debut of "HER TO HER" in which two women, who know each other in both a personal and professional capacity, share their stories, passions and insights into navigating the artworld.

The first session starts with friends Sukai and Galia who have known each other for several years. Galia is also a board member of CasildART and has supported Sukai on her entrepreneurial journey, so get ready for an informative and entertaining evening.

Date: 25/06/24

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: CasildART Gallery, 32 Connaught Street, W2 2AF, Marble Arch

Here's the rundown of what to expect:

THE JOURNEY: Delve into Sukai's remarkable journey as she discusses the ups and downs of transitioning from a Nomadic gallerist to permanent gallery owner.

THE INSPIRATION: Learn about the woman who motivated her to establish CasildART.

COMMUNITY VIBES: Discover how CasildART is more than just a gallery – it's a lively art hub where creativity, connection, and cultural exchange flourish.

Please join us for an evening of good conversation and laughter. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a culture connoisseur, or someone who loves a good story, we’d love to welcome you to our new space.

Find inspiration in the art pieces created by contemporary Black artists.

Sukai is the founder of CasildART, which she set up to address the underrepresentation of Black artists in mainstream galleries, museums and fine art institutions. In March, she opened an art gallery showcasing contemporary Black art.

During the talk, you'll hear how she transitioned from a nomadic gallerist to a gallery owner. Sukai will also share the inspiration behind her work and what drives her passion and dedication to creating a platform for contemporary Black art.

Galia Wells is a Strategic ESG Insights Advisor with an extensive background in finance and responsible investing, boasting over 20 years of experience at prominent institutions including Morgan Stanley, EBRD and PWC.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she co-founded Aleph Contempaory with her husband Nick Wells aimed at supporting UK artists. Galia is a board member for CasildART, where she combines her financial acumen with her commitment to diversity and inclusion.

CasildART Contemporary CIC is a not-for-profit Black-led organisation founded to foster a more inclusive and supportive creative culture by addressing the lack of representation of Black artists in museums, commercial galleries, and fine art institutions. We aim to raise awareness and increase the visibility of their work, amplify their voices and give freedom to their creative expression.

We look forward to seeing you.

Stay connected.
