Join us for a special evening of curated storytelling in partnership with Help Refugees.

We’ll be hearing from Alf Dubs, Shappi Khorsandi, Ahmed Al-Rashid, Liz Clegg and Rabbi Harry Jacobi - who’ll be speaking on their experiences of being or working closely with refugees in crisis.

This event is part of the Help Refugees ‘CHOOSE LOVE’ campaign, which will run from December 4th - Christmas eve the year, with the aim of increasing awareness, encouraging empathy and raising funds to support Help Refugees’ work to improve the lives of the 65 million people seeking refuge worldwide.

With grassroots support, Help Refugees is now the largest distributor of aid among all grass roots in Europe, funding 65 projects on the front line of this crisis including projects in 22 camps in Greece and in settlements in Paris, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.

To show our support for their incredible work, Liberia will open on Monday 5 December and donate all profits taken on the day to Help Refugees.

The evening event will run from 6-8pm. After hearing from the speakers, there’ll be the opportunity for a Q&A.

Alf Dubs is a staunch supporter of the unaccompanied refugee children seeking protection and a home. In 2016 he proposed an amendment to the Immigration Bill which said the government should "make arrangements" to relocate and support 3,000 unaccompanied refugee children from other countries in Europe.

Shappi Khorsandi is a British comedian and author. She made waves with her 2006 sold out show Asylum Speaker, the show focused on the story of her asylum from Iran, where she and her family were forced to flee after her father composed a satirical poem that was seen as critical of the revolutionary regime.

Ahmad Al-Rashid Ahmad is one of the 5000 Syrian’s who have successfully settled in the UK. As a campaigner for refugees, he has been in Parliament several times, has appeared on various TV shows and had his writing published in the Guardian and the Independent.

Liz Clegg works tirelessly on the front lines of the refugee crisis. Her journey started when she brought tents abandoned at Glastonbury over to Calais, and over a year later, she found herself still working to ensure the safety of children in the Jungle.

Rabbi Harry Jacobi MBE has first-hand experience of being a refugee, having completed a double escape from the Nazis in 1939 and 1940. He was ordained as a liberal rabbi in 1961 and is currently a Vice President of Liberal Judaism.
