Human anatomy inspired Hugo to become a fashion designer, to harness the ability of beautifying and liberating a person's body with garments consciously designed and constructed using research, sketching and skilful manipulation of various fabrics. Through an exploration of human anatomy they developed a passion for manipulating intricate structures of the body to preserve their perfection or reconstruct it where necessary. Rodrigues takes pride in being a gender pioneer. GENDERLESS BRAND. Sustainable. Made in UK.
Hensher has been documenting London’s alternative fashion/performance scene since 2012. His visual aesthetic veers towards the preternatural, with outlandish subjects, often placed within otherworldly, ethereal landscapes. Hensher is a master at capturing the true essence of his subjects, deliberately using male drag or strong personalities to project power and independence.
With Italian/Japanese/American/Maori Donnaloia, it's obvious to see where influence from aboriginal tribes, such as the Maori tribes, are represented within the symbols Metaraph paints on the body and in the exaggerated accessories. However, most of the designing and creating comes from their own thoughts and energies at the time. There is an appreciation of the dark side that’s celebrated in their work. Raffaello explains.. “Dark is not something necessarily negative as most of the people will associate with, dark is just dark, and as light exists, dark exists. As we embrace our enlightened side, we have to embrace and accept also our dark side. It’s a journey through lights and shadow. We can't ignore it.”
Stylist and designer Freya AKA Wolfe is a brave anarchist in their composed styling and through their independent brand. Demanding questions to be raised and boundaries to be blurred around gender stereotypes and social ‘norms’ through visual and physical Art. WOLFE CHAINZ is a fetish wear brand for the genderless alien form. Like Frida Kahlo, clothes are really important to Wolfe to make a statement about their own independence from feminine norms and to inspire others to experiment with their own style.
Palmerani, Palmy for short, is a fearless and striking young designer that questions gender roles through their own looks and through their knit-wear creations. Working for Vivienne Westwood in the past and being a vivid personality in the established London nightlife - Palmy continues to be a constant inspiration.
