Description
An evening of exhilarating spoken word at Brighton's longest-running poetry slam. Featuring performances from Gramski, Calliope and E.J. Hamilton, hosted by comedian Leanne Shorley.
PLEASE NOTE: This slam will take place at The Seahorse (26 Kings Rd, Brighton BN1 2LN) rather than our regular venue (The Walrus).
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
HOW TO SLAM: 'Performer Tickets' are now SOLD OUT for 3rd December. If you'd like to come along as an audience member and be on the slam reserve list, please let us know at the door on the night. Often, at least one slammer won't show up, so it's worth a go! If you are performing in the slam, please prepare an original poem of 3 minutes or less (no music, no props). Any style, any theme, anything you want! It doesn’t have to be memorised and you’re more than welcome to read from paper/your phone.
Check out our Instagram to see us in action @hammerandtonguebrighton and feel free to email hammerandtonguebrighton@gmail.com with any questions.
The Seahorse is an accessible venue (please use the beach entrance for step-free access).
