Hammer & Tongue Hackney June

Event ended

Hammer & Tongue Hackney June

From GBP 3.00

Description

It's the final poetry slam of the H&T Hackney 2020-21 season. Co-Host, Fausta Joly also brings their poetry workshop to the HT_Hackney crowd - offering an hour of exercises designed to free the mind and pen. You will leave with at least two poems! Kicks off at 6.30pm via Zoom. Purchase a combined ticket here or email jolylicks@gmail.com to get more info.

Every month since October, wordsmiths have been doing battle - taking to the H&T stage to impress, entertain, move and amaze. Judged by randomly selected members of the audience, we have one last winner to find before the end of season final. And on Tuesday 1st June we will find them!

Join us for one last online evening before the Great Unlocking and the Grand Final, to see the season's ultimate slam and to witness a spoken word feature set from the amazing Sami Rhymes!

Sami Rhymes is a Spoken Word Artist, Poet, Published Author, Freelance Senior Project Manager  and Creative Coach. London based and raised, Sami has performed and headlined at a number of public and private events in London and abroad. She has featured on local radio and made her poetry TV debut on the BAFTA nominated Sky Arts show Life & Rhymes, hosted by the legendary Benjamin Zephaniah. Sami uses rhyme as a means of release and therapy and through her spoken word inspires people in her community to speak up and take action. Her poetry touches on everything from identity to relationships to mental health, injustices and day to day experiences.

We know you're all Zoomed out, be we do Zoom better than most. Here's what our feature guests have said:

"that was my favourite Zoom experience of the entire 13 months! It was such a lovely atmosphere and the warmth was  almost tangible. Really high quality of stuff performed too. And the music was great. I can't effuse enough!"

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
