Live poetry and spoken word from the London branch of the UK's biggest network of slam poetry events, with features from legendary poet and comedian, Jonny Fluffypunk and the newly crowned H&T National Slam Champion, Usaama Minhas plus last month's slam winner Joe Caplin.

JONNY FLUFFYPUNK: Stand-up poet and lo-fi theatremaker Jonny Fluffypunk has been dragging his art around the UK’s gigs, festivals and housing benefit offices for over 20 years. By turns daft, downtrodden and oddly moving, Jonny’s blend of poems, micro-fictions and threadbare philosophy manages to function both as celebration of beauty in the mundane and as elaborate cry for help. His latest collection of stuff- 'Poundland Rimbaud'- is out from Burning Eye, and his latest show- about epiphanies, love and being the first punk in the village- is currently popping up in ad-hoc venues everywhere.

USAAMA MINHAS: Poet, rapper and actor, in 2013 Usaama won the 'Britain's Got Bars' Rap Battle Tournament at French Montana’s show at the indigo at The O2, sharing the stage with Lady Leshurr and Ghetts. After two days in January this year at the Royal Albert Hall, at the biggest slam poetry event in the UK, Usaama emerged the 2018 Hammer and Tongue National Slam Champion. He is currently working on a mixtape and an EP, while he continues to travel and perform poetry, hold workshops and engage in discussions around politics and current affairs.

OPEN MIC SLAM: Eight Places available on a first come first served basis. Sign up on the night from 730pm. 3mins on the mic, any style welcome. No music, no props. Winner gets a ten minute set at start of next month's event and a place in the end of season final.
