The world of Champagne is dominated by the big houses such as Veuve Clicquot and Bollinger. However, there are hundreds of smaller producers doing amazing things – growing their own grapes and making excellent wines. This tasting will introduce you to the fascinating world of growers’ Champagne and promises to open your eyes to what the region has to offer.
Our host for the evening is Dawn Davies. As a sommelier at top London restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Ledbury and The Square, Dawn has a serious background in choosing great wines. She recently joined The Whisky Exchange team after a stint as head wine and spirits buyer for Selfridges, and she’s been using her knowledge of fine wine and Champagne to build up our range and expertise.
We’ll be tasting our way through seven excellent Growers’ Champagnes selected by Dawn, as well as a big-house bottling, to show the difference that these small producers bring to their wines.
The tasting will take place on 15th Feb, 7.30pm.
Tickets cost just £45 per person.
The tasting will start at 19.30, however please arrive by 19.15 to ensure a prompt start.
