The Global Design Forum is the Festival’s annual programme of talks and discussions exploring the role of design in a sustainable and prosperous future.
Returning for a fourth year to the V&A with a series of Masterclasses, the 2015 Forum will focus on profiling the industry’s pivotal figures who will each discuss their work against the background of a particular topic.

Barber & Osgerby in conversation with Christopher Turner
Internationally-acclaimed designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, who founded their London-based studio in 1996, will give an overview of their recent projects.
Their diverse body of work spans industrial design, furniture, lighting and site-specific installations (including Double Space, a huge, 30m-long kinetic structure, shown at the V&A during last year’s London Design Festival). They have worked with many leading manufacturers, including Knoll, Cappellini and Vitra, and prominent public commissions such as the London 2012 Olympic Torch and a new £2 coin for the Royal Mint.

About Barber & Osgerby
Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby founded their London-based studio in 1996. Theirdiverse body of work spans industrial design, furniture, lighting and site-specificinstallations as well as limited edition pieces and public commissions such as the London 2012 Olympic Torch and projects for the Royal Mint. They are currently working with leading global manufacturers including Knoll, Vitra, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Venini, and Flos. Their work is held in permanent museum collections around the world including V&A and Design Museum in London, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Art Insti_tute of Chicago. In 2001 Barber & Osgerby established architecture and interior design practice Universal Design Studio, and in 2012 they founded Map, specialising in research and strategy-led design. In 2007 they were awarded Royal Designers for Industry by the Royal Society of Arts and in 2013 the designers were each awarded an OBE for their services to the design industry.
