Giulio Romano Malaisi
Giulio Romano Malaisi's journey into the world of the guitar starts at the age of 10 at the Gilfredo Cattolica music academy, where for the next ten years he would learn the classical and electric guitar from his teacher Mariano Gaetani and study musical theory under the tutelage of Alfredo Sorichetti. In those ten formative years, Giulio developed an incredible capacity to communicate with his instrument, creating and honing a unique style, mixing fingerpicking and flatpicking techniques - ultimately obtaining scholarships and achieving acclaim from the local music scene.
It was during this incredible time that his path would allow him to meet the multi award winning guitarist, Antonio Forcione. Forcione was to be one of the most significant inspirations and influences on Giulio, ultimately encouraging Giulio to pursue his career abroad. At the age of 18, Giulio Romano made the move to London (UK) where he quickly gained work as a session player, concertist and composer.
Over the years he has played with top musicians and bands from all over the world. These includes The Ayoub Sisters, Antonio Forcione, Trio Manouche, Aaron Liddard, Jason Cooper ( The Cure), Dominique Durner, Junior Giscombe, Quentin Collins, Beverly Skeete, Mozez (Zero 7), Kevin Leo, Michael Rosen, Phil Ramocon, Chicco Allotta (Incognito), Daniele Antenucci, Kate Robbins, Jess De Giudici, Trevor Francis, Francesca Confortini, Pauline Catlin Reid (formerly of Brown Sugar Reggae Band); Imaani, and many more..
Giulio has played many exclusive and renovated venues such as Ronnie Scott’s (London), Koncertzale “Latvija”, Harlem Jazz Club (Barcelona), La Bellevilloise (Paris) Oran More (Glasgow), Villa Medici (Rome) The Gate (Cardiff) 606 Club (London), Marriot Mena House (Cairo), Jazz Pizza Express (London) Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre (Kuwait), Peligoni Club (Zante) He has released 4 albums and three singles under his own name as well as having recorded for artists such: Mozez (Zero 7) The Ayoub Sisters, Melanie Stace, Nathan Adams, Paulin Catlin Reid, Greg Miller, Gypsy Dynamite, Fresh Eggs, Elephant Ears, Francesca Confortini and many more.
