Gross Net is the music of Philip Quinn (Girls Names). Following on from a limited cassette release through Art For Blind, Gross Net’s debut album will be released in Spring 2016 via Touch Sensitive Records (David Holmes, Cherrystones).
Beautiful boys, ghosts, exorcisms, resurrections, sex, mental disorder, 'dole-scum' boredom. Gross Net singularly stalks the lineage of electronic body music. From Throbbing Gristle’s ‘Tesco Disco’, to the fear and futurism of the European Cold Wave, through amyl-nitrate powered strobe-lit dancefloors and empty, decaying industrial halls.
Pairing dark, brutal rhythms with existential and world-weary themes, Gross Net is the sound of the Tory-led dystopia of now. The antidote to pound shop Gallagher brothers in their matching Superdry and Hollister outfits. The riposte to the messianic false prophets pontificating financial ruse as a grand truth.
