Description

How often do you know that you ‘should’ but somehow find you ‘can’t’? Drawing on psychological theories of change and motivation Anne will help us to think about setting goals that will motivate us to get started and to keep going once the initial novelty has worn off. Although this workshop session is of interest to all it might be particularly helpful for those of us trying to get started on something in their lives.

Anne is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 30 years experience working in mental health services. She has worked in old asylums, in community services and in modern mental health hospitals, with people at all stages of their recovery journey. She now channels her energy into leading the movement for mental health recovery across the Black Country, a movement based on the principles of the power of relationships, supporting people to use and strengthen their capabilities, and working from a position of possibility. Her commitment to mental health recovery has been significantly influenced by her own lived experience as a mother of twin daughters with mental health challenges.
