Join Claire Palfreyman of London-based print studio We Make Here for this Wednesday workshop.
This workshop is for a maximum of 8 participants, so you will get plenty of one-to-one guidance and help.
You will create a box of bespoke stationery using block printing techniques. Claire will show you how to transfer your geometric design onto the block (it measures 7.5cm x 7.5cm, if you want to plan a design in advance).
You will then practice using the cutting tools before you carve out the image, leaving the raised area for printing. Using traditional hand-burnishing techniques you will then print your block onto postcards in a range of colour combinations.
Et voilà a unique set of stationery will be yours to take home, packaged up in a re-usable box. You will also take home your printing block, so you can carry on printing onto fabric or paper at your leisure.
We Make Here only uses eco-friendly waterbased inks for printing and recycled papers and packaging.
