Gastrosalon - Tickets for this event are no longer available online but are still available from the box office at the Stoke Newington Town Hall

Jun 08 2014 13:00 - 15:00

St Paul's Church Hall, Stoke Newington High Street, N16 7UY London

GastroSalon takes three talkers, professional eaters, writers and armchair philosophers and persuades them to reveal all. In previous GastroSalons we've learned how to get the measure of a wo/man through the medium of lunch, how hamburgers were invented in the West of Ireland in the 1930s, and how to make a ham spliff. As well as discussing their lives in food, writer and broadcaster Rachel McCormack (Radio 4’s Kitchen Cabinet) will ask her guests to read their desert island extract – their favourite piece of writing on food, drink and conviviality
