Description

Ever felt like building a brand is an impossible task? You're not alone! The Bridge Co. FYI has joined forces with The Hoxton, Holborn to celebrate and explore the power of people in the fashion and creative industries, from the way we get dressed, to the way we use social media and the work that we do. Join us on 28th March for this 3-part mini talk series to find out how to build your own community, how community mindsets are changing the face of fashion and the online and IRL spaces that are just for you.

Part 1. The Community Wardrobe: Sara Arnold of HIGHER in conversation with Stevie Mackenzie-Smith of Layers Podcast about the sharing economy and how HIGHER is changing mindsets about how we get dressed (6.45 - 7.15pm)

Stevie Mackenzie-Smith - Layers Podcast

Stevie Mackenzie-Smith and Ana Kinsella co-founded Layers podcast - stories about style, women and how we get dressed. Having built an online following as journalists first before started the podcast, Layers has quickly become a must-listen.

Sara Arnold - HIGHER Studio

Having studied Fashion Design with Marketing at CSM, Sara emerged unable to justify creating clothes. With the aim of finding a solution for fashion industry creatives also facing the dilemma of creating sustainably, Sara enrolled on an Msc in Innovation Entrepreneurship and Management at Imperial Business School, graduating with a final project on the circular economy. Confronting consumerism, HIGHER STUDIO was founded at the end of 2016 to create her vision of retail.

Part 2. Finding and Building your Community Online (7.30 - 8pm)

A talk-come-workshop with social media experts about how brands can support each other's growth and engagement online, from using Instagram pods, to voice and visual identity. This is your one-stop shop for all things digi.

Speakers include Jennifer Hore (Digital Content & Social Media Manager, Trouva) and more

Part 3. Building a Business Around Your Community, Panel Discussion (8.15 - 8.45pm)

A panel talk with an all-female panel of creative industry experts on how they work with their contemporaries to build their businesses, the benefits of sharing the wealth, how to embrace the woman they work with around them and empower themselves through work and communities.

Speakers include Sapphire Bates (Founder, The Coven Girl Gang and The Flower Arranger), Tahmina Begum (Editor-in-Chief, XXY Magazine)
