The 'Funked It Up' house band are a collective of musicians dishing up Funk, Northern Soul, Motown and anything else they care to funk up! The 7 piece band (including brass section) cover everything from Bowie to Merry Clayton, The Meters, The commodores, of course Stevie Wonder, certainly Prince, Gloria jones, Al Wilson, Al Green....all the Al's...Sam and Dave, Edwin Star and the Average White Band...to name a lot but not THE lot!
If thats not enough there will be a guest support act and DJ's throughout the night.
This is becoming THE night so it's great to be back at The Carlton Club, a special venue in Whalley Range, for the Funked It Up guys to serve up the funk for you all!!

Formed as a loving tribute to the joyous music of Nigerian synth-funk genius William Onyeabor after having seen Atomic Bomb! Band play, ATOMIC MONS have grown in number since their humble beginnings as a four piece with a Nintendo DS as a drum machine to now number anywhere between 7 and 10 members (the Nintendo has been retired too). They'll somehow get you singing along to Mr Onyeabor's insanely addictive grooves whether you know the tunes or not - the best music you've probably never heard!
