FRESH THURSDAY is a regular event showcasing exciting new music alongside lots of candles, board games and a home-cooked slap up dinner. If you have a nut allergy or are coeliac please choose the ticketing option that states the correct dietary requirement. Booking well in advance for this event is really helpful for us to know how many people we're catering for!

Calum Howard is a composer, producer, sound designer & music facilitator. His experience as a keyboard player has taken him from Wembley Arena (with Minor Victories) and Jools Holland (with Beth Jeans Houghton) to SXSW festival in Texas (with Ruth Lyon) and support slots with Quantic and Sir Was (with Grey Tapes). Closer to home, he produced and performed on Me Lost Me’s album The Good Noise and Ceitidh Mac’s EP I Reach for the Pen.

Calum's solo set consists of unreleased music and hidden gems from the studio, with passages of keyboard-led improvisation combined with undulating, self-sampled loops and patterns, with detailed rhythmic textures and ethereal, melancholic vocals. His music is inspired by the beats, sequences and analog synths of electronic music and the more diffuse melancholia of contemporary classical and cinematic music.

Plantfood bring hard hitting grooves, firing solos and pure energy to their music with influences all the way from spiritual jazz to contemporary dance music. Performing since May 2021, Plantfood have shaken up stages all over Leeds and shared their music all over the UK at festivals such as Beatherder, Deershed Festival, Forward Festival and Salemango.
