WORKSHOP - 3pm CONCERT 7:30pm
Fred Jacobs is an acclaimed lutist and theorbist and expert on music for both instruments who has been teaching both instruments at the Amsterdam Conservatory since 1995. He gave lectures on the French theorbo in the time of Louis XIV (Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, 2012) and on the popularity of the lute in France ca. 1650.
He is a member and co-founder of The Locke Consort, which made a name for itself in 17th-century English chamber music. He is also a continuo player with The Gabrieli Consort and Players, The Parley of Instruments, the baroque orchestra of the Netherlands Bach Society and the Monteverdi ensemble of the Bayerische Staatsoper, where he has participated in all Monteverdi and Cavalli productions since 1997.
Jacobs will hold a musical workshop at 3:00PM (bring your own instruments, particularly guitars and lutes!) followed by a concert at 7:30PM.
Both events will be held at Flushing Sailing Club.
Tickets are £13 per adult. Under 18s go free.
TICKET HOLDERS CAN ATTEND BOTH EVENTS, BUT MUST REGISTER THEIR ATTENDANCE IN ADVANCE BY SELECTING THE APPROPRIATE OPTION.
