Flamenco creative intensive workshop in Aberystwyth with artists from Spain, dancer, Rebeca Ortega and guitarist and singer, Martín Revuelo
SCHEDULE:
WEDNESDAY 11th October:
5h30-6h30: Possible guitar class
6h30-7h30: Dance
7h30-8h15: Palmas and Compás, dancers and guitarists.
8h30-9h30: Dance
THURSDAY 12th October:
5h30-6h30: Possible guitar class
6h30-7h30: Dance
7h30-8h15: Palmas and Compás, dancers and guitarists.
8h30-9h30: Dance with guitarists students.
The level: beginner-intermediate.
The price for dancers both days is: £75. (On day of the start of the workshop: £85)
For young dancers under 25 and students: only £45. (On day of the start of the workshop: £55)
The price for guitarists both days is: £40. We allow a maximum of 6 guitarists. (On day of the start of the workshop: £50)

Martín Revuelo
BIO:
Martín Revuelo is a new born flamenco legend. His rythme playfulness, flamenco understanding and passion is as life is, and becomes specially vibrant in his playing of the bulerías style, jumping from finger to note with a signature grace.
Brought up in the Sevillian gypsy flamenco environment in the "3000 viviendas" neighborhood and furthermore being the son of the famous guitarist, Martín Chico and grand son of the reknown artistic singing couple Juana and Martín Revuelo, flamenco has become his way of living.
He takes the guitar for the first time at the age of 6 years old. He learns by the hand of his father, Martín Chico, and later on at the age of 11 he takes classes with the master, Melchor Borjas, Rocío Jurado's accompaning guitarist, songwriter of Camarón de La Isla, and singer.
Only at 18 years old, he starts accompanying as a guitarist among others singers of the category of Erminia Borjas, El Bareta, María Vizarraga and Juan José Amador.
Currently, he is touring France, Norway, Denmark, Scotland, England and Wales, with the duo show cocreated together with flamenco dancer, Rebeca Ortega, named "Pa Los Flamencos".

Rebeca Ortega
BIO:
Flamenco dancer notable for her knowledge of flamenco music and cante, strong sense of rhythm, expression, elegance and high level of physical and multidisciplinary abilities.
Born into an international flamenco family. Her father, Paco Benamargo, guitarist and agent at "Flamenco de Hoy" and her mother, the northamerican, Esmeralda Ortega, classical dancer; instilled in her the love for Flamenco, music and dance.
Rebeca starts her formation at the "Carmen Amaya Flamenco cultural academy" in Madrid, with her first maestra, Dolores Jiménez, with whom she acquired her first notions of Flamenco, Classical Spanish Dance and Ballet.
Her training continues at the world renowned "Centro de Arte Flamenco y Danza Española Amor de Dios" in Madrid, and later at "Escuela Mayor de Danza" in Madrid and at Úrsula and Tamara López "Flamenco Danza" school in Seville. Her most influential masters are La Tati, Merche Esmeralda, El Güito, Carmela Greco, Javier Latorre, Belén Fernández, La Truco, Alejandro Granados and Miguel Cañas among others.
At the age of 19 years old, she starts her professional career. For 4 years she lives, performs and teaches the art of flamenco in the UK while completing her university studies, which leads her to create, direct and choreograph the “Nottingham Flamenquitas” group, as well as collaborate in different dance styles.
Her dance comprises a vast repertoire including dance istruments: bata de cola, mantón, bastón and castagnets, and personal fusion skills with circus and theatre.
As part of the flamenco company “Teatro Flamenco La Tati”, Rebeca performes in the production "A mi manera" under the direction of the internationally celebrated flamenco dancer and choreographer, La Tati, at Madrid's Conde Duque Theatre.
Also highlites her role as the soloist flamenco dancer in the company of the embassador international travelling flamenco guitarist, Ricardo García at the C-venue Theatres as part of the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She was part of three productions: "Flamenco Global Connect", which received prestigious reviews; "Flamenco Escocia", and "Flamenco for Kids" which was announced and televised as one of the three best kids shows of this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
She stands out in VendersKulturCentret, Copenhaguen, Denmark, in a duo with the circus artist Villads Bugge Bang, performing an original piece that plays with flamenco dance, body percussion, circus and physical theatre.
Recently, she has performed at the renoknw sevillian tablao Los Gallos. Currently she tours with a duo along with Martín Revuelo, "Pa Los Flamencos".
