This film screening is the part of the festival KINO-fest: the Cultural Revolution of the 80's in the USSR. The project is dedicated to the era of the 80's, and is aiming to look at this "revolutionary decade" through the prism of music, cinema, fashion and art. Film story: A film about the Russian cult music critic and writer of the main propagandist and godfather of Russian rock, an honorary citizen of birthplace of rock 'n' roll Memphis, the first DJ of Soviet Union, the king of last magazine pages and the founder of Russian Playboy Magazine. TV and radio host, snob, emigrant and political commentator. Artemy Troitsky is called differently. For 40 years, he is an absolute guru in music, not only in Russia but also beyond its borders.

Critic - it's a movie about those who lived behind the Iron Curtain, but still feel citizens of the planet. Of those, who have not caved in under the changeable world, and moved against the general movement. Those, who at first glance, what is incomprehensible, new and ugly have seen grain, which is the future. This film is about those who did not yet believe in God, and whose religion was a rock 'n' roll. This is not just a biography film about of the first Russian music critic. This is a story about how people are the same age, the Rock 'n' Roll grew and developed together with him and under his sounds. How Rock and Roll served as the soundtrack to their lives.

It's about other things and other people. It's about that, in spite of the bad circumstances and surroundings, philistine installation and aggressive ignorance, a true artist will always find how to express themselves, and sooner or later will be the winner. Artemy in an interview admitted that his toughest days were in the early 80s, when he was out of work, money and future. When the KGB was hunting him and many of his friends ended up in prison. It is that time was the happiest for him. Because it so happened that at this time every year he opened a new Russian rock star. What could be happier feeling than the feeling that you have revealed to the world the talent? And the world, as it turned out, only this and waited for...

Теле и радиоведущий, сноб, диссидент, эмигрант и политический обозреватель. Артемия Троицкого называют по-разному. Уже 40 лет он является абсолютным Гуру по музыке, не только в России, но и за ее рубежами.

Критик - это кино о тех кто, живя за железным занавесом, все равно чувствовали себя Гражданами Планеты. О тех кто, не прогибался под изменчивый мир и двигался против общего движения. О тех, кто на первый взгляд в чем то непонятном, новом и некрасивом видели зерно, чего то будущего. Это фильм о тех, кто тогда еще не верил в бога, и чьей религией был рок-н-ролл. Это рассказ про то, как люди-ровесники рок-н-ролла росли и развивались вместе с ним и под его звуки. Это фильм о Другом и о Других. Он о том что, не смотря на плохие обстоятельства и окружение, мещанские установки и агрессивное невежество, настоящий художник всегда найдет, как себя выразить и рано или поздно окажется победителем. Троицкий в интервью признался, что его самые суровые времена были в начале 80-ых годов, когда у него не было работы, денег и будущего. Когда за ним охотилось КГБ и многие его друзья оказались в тюрьме. Именно это время было для него самым счастливым.… Потому что так получилось, что именно в это время он каждый год открывал новую российскую рок-звезду. Открывал, ставил на ноги и наблюдал, как она обретает культовый статус. Что может быть радостнее чувства, чем чувство, что ты открыл миру талант. А мир, как оказалось, только этого и ждал…
