    Description

Forgotten Faces of the Great War, is being screened in Folkestone Museum with Wenlan Peng as a guest speaker.

This film of oral histories, recounted by descendants of Chinese labourers and their Western commanding officers, gives a fascinating insight into the people who made up the CLC, the reason for signing up, their experiences at the Front and the outcome of their participation in the war. Wenlan, Director of the Meridian Society’s CLC heritage project, will begin her presentation with a look at the historical background to the story of the Chinese Labour Corps. DVDs of the film with accompanying booklet, both produced for the project, are on sale at the museum bookshop; all proceeds will go towards carrying out the aims of the project.

This talk is a free event, donations are welcome and gratefully received.
