Site-Specific Workshop with Fernanda Prata
This workshop will be divided in two sessions, where on the 1st part we will be investigating movement, working with taught phrases and devising material either individually or in small groups. For the 2nd part we will be taking this material to be explored outside the studio and interact with a variety of spaces around TripSpace. We will investigate how each space have it’s owns specificity and how this influence in our movement and revels different stories. The workshop is open to Professional Dancers, recently graduate and dance students. Please bring knee pads and comfortable trainers.
Fernanda Prata Biography
Fernanda works as movement director, yoga practitioner and as a tutor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She has been teaching extensively in UK, Europe and Brazil leading Master classes, workshops and intensives for both dancers and Previous works include, assistant director and rehearsal director for Punchdrunk “The Drowned Man”, rehearsal director for Vincent Dance Theatre “Virgin Territory”, director and choreographer of “Family Portraits”, "Memories" and "1960" for Mountview Academy of Arts. Other choreographic works includes “Never Look Back” CAT Programme The Place and “Pororoca” for CAT programmeTrinity Laban for their end of the year show Fernanda has been awarded a commission from the Horniman Museum creating the piece “Nós” which was part of the Horniman Museum & Gardens Brazilian festival As performer Fernanda worked with Punchdrunk being a core member of the company since 2006. Other companies include Jasmin Vardimon, Protein, Vincent Dance Theatre, Stan Won’t dance, Theatre Rites, The Globe Theatre, and National Theatre. Fernanda also works as mentor for various companies and as movement coach for actors and performers.
