FASHION DIALOGUES – THE COSTUME SERIES
Massimo Cantini Parrini in conversation with Matteo Augello
The FASHION DIALOGUES return at the Italian Cultural Institute in London with a series dedicated to costume. Fashion historian Matteo Augello will dive into the worlds of cinema, theatre, opera and ballet, exploring the central role costumes play in bringing stories to life. The new season kicks off with one of Italy’s most awarded costume designers, Massimo Cantini Parrini.
Cantini Parrini started his career at an early age after the Oscar-winning costume designer Piero Tosi noticed his talent at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. He joined the renowned costumier Tirelli in Rome, where he met another Oscar-winner, Gabriella Tosi, with whom he would work as an assistant costume designer for a decade on films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Tim Burton, 2005) and The Brothers Grimm (Terry Gilliam, 2005).
This event will be conducted in Italian with English consecutive translation.
