Fantasia Orchestra: Brahms, Mozart, Yiu

St. Gabriel's Church, Pimlico, Warwick Square, SW1V 2AD London

Join the Fantasia Orchestra as we kick off our 2017-18 season with a programme of Brahms, Mozart and Yiu.

Described by the Arts Desk as 'a thing of wonder' last December, the strings of the orchestra perform the world premiere of celebrated composer Raymond Yiu's 'Oslo - Hommage à Lukas Foss'. Written in homage to the great German-American composer Lukas Foss, with whom Yiu studied composition, the work has close ties with chamber music and makes use of extended technique for the whole group.

One of the Royal Academy of Music's Elton John Scholars Kenny Fu plays Mozart's Piano Concerto no.13. Kenny is an incredibly exciting young pianist and his performance of this concerto promises to be very thrilling indeed.

The concert finishes with Brahms' much-loved Second Symphony, a triumphant orchestral work known for its particularly pastoral spirit.
