Description
Expressive Writing with a Dash of Humour Workshop
In conjunction with: The School of Laughter: Find Your Funny
Humour eases our troubles, adds zest to our lives and connects us to others.
Come along to the second in the series of Expressive Writing with a Dash of Humour workshops with Charmaine Pollard and utilise poetry and expressive writing as a tool for healing and self discovery. You will gain an opportunity to experience ways in which creative and expressive writing can help you incorporate more humour into your life and enhance your sense of wellbeing.
This workshop is experiential and open to everyone.
No previous experience of poetry or expressive writing is required, just a willingness to share, reflect and experiment with words in a supportive environment.
You especially benefit when you share your writing. Hearing your words validated by others can be a powerful learning experience and can lead to deeper levels of understanding and increased confidence and self esteem. However, you always decide what you wish to share.
CPD certificates are provided for those attending the workshop for continuing professional development (CPD) purposes.
About Charmaine Pollard
I wear many hats, I am a Certified Poetry Therapist, Counsellor, Life coach and Part Time Tutor.
Over the past ten years I facilitated several personal development and poetry therapy groups and workshops in various settings such as community libraries, therapy centres, adult and FE Colleges. My groups and workshops are based on reading and writing poetry to promote health and wellbeing with a particular focus on confidence and resilience.
I now work in secondary schools, facilitating Courage to Be Me, a writing for wellbeing programme I developed, based on expressive writing and reading of poems, to give support for students’ social and emotional needs.
I am passionate about how words can be used to bring about healing and transformation
