Express U is a new youth radio activity for young people in Derby. We are using radio to enhance the wellbeing of young people.
Join us and express your feelings during the pandemic and also showcase your passion for music, showcase your talents in poetry and the arts.
Learn new skills such as interviewing and have a space to communicate your hopes and fears for the future. We are inviting guest speakers and give you tasks to complete to create your own shows.
Learn how to make radio and showcase your shows on the Derby Sound Community Radio Station. We are using social distanced online sessions to learn new skills and to express your feelings and experience, whilst meeting other young people.
Come along on our visits in bubbles to the radio station to get a feel for live radio (If save to do so and lockdown restrictions are lifted). This is arranged in partnership with Derby Sound Community Radio, who are supporting the project.
Under 16s must be supervised by a responsible adult during the sessions. Tickets must only be booked for children and young people. Teachers and other professionals with interest in the proejct should contact us seperately.
This project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
