Description

Join us as we celebrate the opening of a new exhibition by Mirry Stolzenberg.

Within this exhibition of mixed media drawings, Mirry Stolzenberg brings together a collection of illustrated studies originating from her artist book 23-29 Market Square. The skeletal narrative was inspired by various passages of fiction all of which describe domestic spaces and the atmospheres alive within them.

Whilst studying Fine Art Sculpture at Brighton University, Mirry’s work evolved in various forms comprising soft sculpture; puppetry, shadow plays, drawing, three-dimensional collage and large-scale installations. Since those venturesome art school days, she has worked as an Artist in Residence at The Arts Depot Gallery, London, produced and directed animated theatre and films for Les Marionettes Festival, Paris, worked as an illustrator for The Tate, had one of her artist books published by Kunst/Extrapool Press, Nijmegen, Holland, and choreographed performance art shows alongside Marvin Gaye Chetwynd at Tate Britain and The Royal Academy of Arts. Undoubtedly all these endeavours have worked their influence on the artist she is today. Mirry’s fascination with atmosphere and a love of storytelling remains at the heart of all the work she undertakes.

Please note that while this event is free to attend, space is limited so please RSVP via Billetto if you'd like to join us.
