Looking for a weekend escape with good friends? Or a solo adventure making new ones? Follow the red fox on an "Escape the City" two day ride in the country.
A visit to Sussex is a visit into the near and distant past and a perfect weekend 'escape' for the inquisitive culture vulture. In the early nineties a fossil was uncovered in West Sussex, said to belong to an early human (now known as 'Boxgrove Man') who lived in ancient Britain around half a million years ago. Though we promise this ride will be mammoth and sabretooth tiger-free.
Sussex also contains the site of the Roman landings which preceded the invasion of Britain, it played host to the famous Battle of Hastings and was a major base for the D-Day landings during the second world war. That said, for those less captivated by history and heritage, Sussex is as rich in beauty as it is in history. The beautiful chalk downs separate inland Sussex from the ocean, the Ouse and the Cuckmere rivers are home to plentiful wildlife and the Seven Sisters are a truly iconic landmark. So, in short, there's something for everyone on this spectacular ride!
