- Unique Project for your CV
Strathclyde Equate and FemEng have organised a collaborative group project, now in its second year running, with the aim of designing a wind farm. The project is open to all students at the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde and Caledonian as well as City of Glasgow College students. ALL students are invited to join - regardless of gender, year of study, field of study ... we welcome you!
This project is sponsored by SSE, Mott MacDonald and Equate Scotland.
Our sponsors are co-developing the brief with us and providing mentoring throughout the project. This is your opportunity to network, further your technical and group skills and gain exposure to industry software. The week will commence on 20th May, with introductions, distribution of resources and project brief. Throughout the week, there will be scheduled mentor sessions held at UofG/Strath so you can get insight from experts and professionals.
DTU is kindly providing us with software licenses for industry software WAsP, and Mott MacDonald will be holding tutorial sessions teaching you how to use it; which means you will develop a basic proficiency with this programme and give you something unique to put on your CV.
This project will have a focus on the location, design, power, environmental, social and economic impacts of your wind farm. The Equate Wind Farm Project will conclude with a networking and presentation day at SSE.

The winning team will receive £100 worth of Amazon vouchers, courtesy of Equate Scotland. SSE will also be providing the winning team with a trip to the Clyde Wind Farm.
