    Description

The Italian Cultural Institute in London, Agenzia ICE / Italian Trade Agency and INTERNI Magazine invite you to the talk “Ephemeral Architectures”, taking place as part of the London Design Festival.

Following welcome remarks by Francesco Bongarrà, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in London, Giovanni Sacchi, Director of Agenzia ICE / Italian Trade Agency, and Gilda Bojardi, Editor-in-Chief of INTERNI, the following speakers will take part:

    • Carolina Gismondi de Bevilacqua, Architect, Designer and Vice President of Artemide

    • Carola Migliore, Architect and Co-Founder of Reality Is__

    • Christina Seilern, Founder and Principal of Studio Seilern Architects

The culture of impermanence has its roots in the Baroque tradition of temporary installations, from the theatrical settings of Renaissance Rome to the spectacular backdrops of Elizabethan London.

Today, ephemeral architecture is both a design approach and a philosophy, bringing together the craftsmanship and industrial expertise of Made in Italy. Temporary installations offer architects an opportunity to experiment with innovative ideas and create powerful experiences for the public, while scenographic design plays an increasingly important role in exhibitions and showroom spaces.

The event will also present Milano Design Hub & Spoke (Electa, 2026), the new monograph by INTERNI dedicated to Milan, the global epicentre of Made in Italy design and its international influence.
