Emergence Festival 2022 is a celebration of 'mothers' * in the arts, and the creative in us all! Featuring music, performance, workshops and visual art, there is something for everyone!
30th Sep: Private View, Lorikeet performance and opening talk and Q&A with novelist Jessica Cornwell and photographer Naomi Wood. Visual art featuring Jenna Harman, Amy Kolarides, Camilla Emson, Ella Cogson, Rhianon Lassila and Laura Corfield. 6pm-10pm. A chance to have a glass of wine, absorb some new and exciting art, be part of the conversation surrounding our themes and listen to the folksy, lush harmonies of a band born out of last year's festival.
1st Oct daytime: a wild and colourful celebration for children, adults, and everyone in between! With workshops, games, music, theatre, art and spoken word. There is something for everyone! Music from Sinnober, Briony Clark and Amy Bisazza. Workshops from Mojo Moves, Groove Tots, Djembe drumming circle with Abi Bailey, Curiosity Kids and Naff Art Club. 'Mother Tongue' tent featuring Liv Torc, Martha Oster, Melissa Hermanny and Emma Williamson with all things wordy- flash lit, theatre, book talks, poetry and spoken word.
1st Oct evening: A party! Come and dance, drink and get to know new friends! A warm and welcoming celebration featuring Abi Bailey's Kib Elektra, a pop up burlesque show and a robot disco (fancy dress supplies provided!) to dance the night away! Adults only. 7.30-11pm
2nd Oct daytime: for 'mother' adults, time to have space to create, participate and be nourished. 10-11:15 movement with Sundari Miranda Falconer/11-12 Sharing circle with Gauri/12-2 ‘I See You’ with Juliet Colyer (one to one music sessions)/1-3pm Music, Motherhood and Me with Natasha Zielazinski and Detta Danford (a creative music and coaching workshop)
* Mothers and non-binary parents, expectant, new, grand, great grand, step, foster, adoptive mothers, those with babies, or older children, mothers without living children, mothers who breastfeed, mothers who bottle feed, mothers of any race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and mothers with a disability.
