Eco-printing & Bundle-dye Technique with Organic Silk, at Artist's studio

Oct 26 2019 13:00 - 16:00

114 Kingsgate Rd, NW6 2JG London

Learn how to use flowers and other natural dye stuff to hand-dye silk textiles, creating intriguing patterns and vibrant colour. We will use a technique called bundle-dyeing, a relaxing process involving extracting pigment from flowers onto cloth.

A length of pre-mordanted, UK grown organic pure silk will be included in the price. You can then make it into a scarf or use for any personal project you like.

Kylie is gifted with floral waste from florists, so there will be a variety of fresh and dried floral waste that we will use to create our eco-prints. Not only will you leave with the knowledge and skills to continue with future projects of your own. You will hopefully experience a deeper connection with nature and the therapeutic qualities it entails.
