    Description

Get together with a bunch of brilliant people, entrepreneurs, creatives and East London independent businesses for an evening of sparking ideas and connections, at Grow Hackney - an independent canal side bar, kitchen and creative space in Hackney Wick.

This time, our theme is Building the Future. We'll be uncovering London's vibrant DIY culture - people and projects building the future they want to see, often in the face of change and challenge.

Come and be inspired by guest speakers shaking up their industries and building incredible initiatives that challenge the way we educate ourselves, source our food and spend our money.

Zahra Davidson - Co-Founder of Enrol Yourself

Enrol Yourself harnesses the potential of peer groups, infinite content, and a networked world to enable personalised, flexible lifelong learning. www.enrolyourself.com

Emma Shaw - Co-Founder of Library of Things

Library of Things is a network of community hubs lending useful items to people living nearby. It asks the question 'why buy when you can borrow?', and aims to challenge our approach to ownership and sharing. www.libraryofthings.co.uk

Sinead Fenton - Director at Audacious Veg

Audacious Veg are building a food system based on fairness, social justice, and environmental sustainability. They grow organic food and flowers and offer traineeships to underrepresented young people. www.audaciousveg.org

There’ll be space for you to spark ideas and connections, and tap into the skills and networks you need to bring your ideas to life. Plus all the usual Echo Social fun, food, drink and conversation, including tasty bites courtesy of member Elysia, a social enterprise turning surplus artisan food into delicious canapes.

    Come join us for...

    • Grow's range of organic wines, cider, craft beers, and soft drinks
    • Delicious grub from our Echo++ foodie alumnus, Elysia
    • Curated connections with Echo members old and new
    • Inspiring short talks designed to get you thinking

It's free to attend and all are welcome - so go on, grab yourself a ticket. You never know who you might meet!

    ***

Echo is a marketplace without money, where East London people and businesses can trade anything from graphic design and business advice to accountancy and bike fixing, without using money.

Instead, we use a currency called Echoes, where 1 Echo = 1 hour. With 5000+ members, Echo is a thriving network for connecting, collaborating and sharing resources.

It’s free to join at economyofhours.com. Yay!
