echo presents: EXILE

echo, one of the UK's most exciting young vocal ensembles, present two special performances this September.

EXILE is an exploration of political and emotional exile, displacement and migration. The concert features music from the 12th century to the present day, including pieces by William Byrd, Phillippe de Monte and Pedro de Cristo, alongside vocal improvisation and theatrical use of the performance space.

On Friday 22nd September, we will be performing in the beautiful and sacred space of St. James in Paddington, and on Saturday 23rd we'll descend into the dark depths of the Thames Tunnel Shaft at the Brunel Museum at Rotherhithe, for a very special immersive performance.

echo is a brand new ensemble of 18 young professional singers, exploring the full range of ensemble singing. Music rooted in the Western classical tradition yet inspired by improvisation, folk song and spoken word. The group met while working together through Genesis Sixteen, the prestigious young artists scheme run by The Sixteen.
