Eat my Face - Jelly Workshop
A workshop for groups of two.
Bompas & Parr invites you and a trusted friend to attend a hands-on-face workshop. Join us to explore the possibilities of anatomical jelly-making and to make all your face-eating fantasies come true.
The day starts in the kitchen, where you will learn the basic principles of jelly-making appropriate to create an edible face of your own. We then move to the workshop, where each pair will learn how to use an alginate face mask to create a mould of each other's face. This is a claustrophobic but not necessarily unpleasant experience - straws are inserted up the nose to facilitate breathing. Once the alginate is set, plaster bandages are added and allowed to set before the cast is removed. Later we will adjust the face moulds before casting with plaster to create a positive of your face (yours to take away and display at home).
After a break for lunch (a face-themed feast prepared by our studio chef) and a much-needed drink, we will head back into the workshop to finish off the casts, learning how to use a vacuum-former to create jelly moulds (everyone leaves with two jelly moulds of their face).
Each participant will also receive a Bompas & Parr cookbook, recipe card and gelatine for making your face jelly when you get home.
Participants should arrive wearing clothes that they do not mind getting dirty during the casting process.
Each ticket admits two people.
Due to the nature of this event you should not attend if you suffer from claustrophobia, haphephobia or are unsure about any aspect of the process. If in doubt please contact us before booking. All participants will be required to sign a waiver before starting the course.
