Is there a more thrilling sight on our highways and byways than seeing a classic car from your youth or from a great movie. Then, just imagine over one hundred classic cars of all ages, makes and models set to the historic backdrop of Durham City Centre.
The very first “Durham City Classic Car Gala” takes place on Monday 27th August2018, an event which has been organised by Mercedes Benz enthusiast Malcolm Vance and thirty-five-year Automotive Industry stalwart (now Business Consultant) John Armitage, will bring more than one hundred of the region’s finest Classic Cars to three locations within Durham’s Historic City Centre and what is hoped to become one of the premier Classic Car Shows in the North East. Supported by Durham University, Walkergate plc and Durham Markets, this event will have something to entertain the whole family – as if the cars themselves weren’t enough – there will be Food stalls, a street market and the Finest Glenn Miller Tribute Show in the North of England as well as the regular City Centre businesses and local market traders.
The vehicles will on display across three closely located areas, the Market Place, Millennium Place and the Palace Green in front of the Cathedral. If you have a Classic Vehicle you would like to display, there were still some places available (at the time of writing) and still some vendor stall options available.
