Dressmaking for Beginners: Make a Girl’s Skirt

Join Alice Gallagher from Sew Me Wear Me to learn how to make beautiful handmade children’s clothes with this perfect beginner-friendly project.

This workshop is ideal for beginners with a few basic sewing skills who are interested in learning the fundamentals of making clothes for children.

It will cover various sewing techniques, which Alice will talk you through step by step throughout the afternoon.

You will learn how to construct a basic skirt, add pockets and appliqué stars in Liberty fabric. The skirt can be made in sizes 12 months – 8 years.

Additional kits will be available to buy for £22 for your own future use but all other materials will be provided. You will get to go home with your finished skirt and a code for a digital download of the pattern.

Alice works for The Open University, designing engaging learning experiences. In her spare time she designs children’s wear sewing patterns. Her work has been featured in various publications such as Love Sewing Magazine.

Cost per person - £45 if you want to bring your own sewing machine or £50 with sewing machine hire included. Please specify preference when booking.
