    '1916' by Kieran Allen and 'Hesitant Comrades' by Geoffrey Bell are launched at the London Irish Centre.

    Hosted byPluto Press in association with The London 1916 Commemoration Committee and The SE Region of the TUC and marks the release of two books published by Pluto.

    There will be two short lectures from two renowned scholars covering the Easter Rising and the Irish Revolution, followed by an audience Q&A. The speakers are: Kieran Allen, a sociology lecturer at University College Dublin and author of 1916: Ireland's Revolutionary Tradition; and Geoffrey Bell, who was born in Belfast and has written extensively about the Troubles and is the author of Hesitant Comrades: The Irish Revolution and the British Labour Movement.

    The event will be moderated by Donnacha DeLong, former president of the NUJ and descendent of 1916 participant.
