    Description

Davis Lindley Mullan, otherwise known as DLM, are a 3 piece acoustic trio based in the West Country.

Andy Davis has honed his superb songwriting skills over many years and DLM are a vehicle for some of the finest songs he has ever written. As well as being a stalwart of the mighty Stackridge, he was one half of 1980s hitmakers The Korgis as well as lending his superior talent to the likes of Tears For Fears, Goldfrapp and Julian Cope among many others. Oh yes, and he played on the 'Imagine' album. You know the one, it's by that John Lennon chappy. Another of Andy's claims to fame is that, as a member of Stackridge, he played the first note of the first Glastonbury Festival in 1970 which was a 'B' apparently.

He is accompanied by Clare Lindley and Brian Mullan and between them they play a variety of instruments – guitar, violin, cello and ukelele and more. With the addition of three fine voices, they create rich textures and intimate moods, which breathe life into songs of love, loss and squirrels! They have just released their debut self-titled CD which is right up there with the very best of Andy's work and will be available to buy on the evening in question.

For their first trip to E17 DLM will not only be supported by local folk-pop-indie-prog (with a bit of Americana thrown in) numpties Crayon Angels but also by BBC Norfolk endorsed husband and wife folk-poppers The Mild East.

Ye Olde Rose and Crown is an award winning theatre pub located on Hoe Street in the heart of Walthamstow, a mere 8 minute walk from Walthamstow Central underground (Victoria Line) and overground (trains from Liverpool Street). The concert will take place in the upstairs theatre.
