To celebrate our new Pedro Almodóvar menu and to coincide with the BFI London Film Festival in October we will be hosting three screenings of our favourite films by the director in aqua nueva's private dining rooms while you dine. Taking place on Monday 30th October the second screening will be of Volver.
Meaning ‘to go back’ in Spanish, Volver, is a 2006 Spanish drama film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar. Starring Penélope Cruz, the film revolves around an eccentric family of women from a wind-swept region south of Madrid. Cruz plays Raimunda, a working-class woman forced to go to great lengths to protect her 14-year-old daughter Paula. To top off the family crisis, her mother Irene comes back from the dead to tie up loose ends.
Cruz won Best Actress for her performance and the film won Best Screenplay at the academy awards.
