Who is this course for?
Designed for staff and volunteers working who have specific duties relating to Safeguarding children, e.g. DSO and who have previously attended a Safeguarding Introduction course and require an update
Aims
To provide a working knowledge of the legislative and procedural context of safeguarding, clarifying roles and responsibilities, updating on research and highlight related issues of anti-discriminatory practice.
Learning Outcomes:
Demonstrate an awareness of Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of children and young people,
- Update Legal knowledge
- Develop awareness of risk indicators and the impact long-term harm can have on their development.
- Provide Learning from Serious Case Reviews
- Clarifying professional responsibility when sharing information, knowing how to appropriately share, when to record, in relation to policies and procedures.
- Know own role and the role of other practitioners and agencies in safeguarding children and young people and the process of referral.
- Have considered ‘Safe Working’
