This fine trio is led by the dynamic London-based drummer Dave Storey (Asterope, Tom Millar Quartet & Tom Smith Septet). His trio explores a wide mix of new original music and classic jazz repertoire, with interaction, intensity, and playfulness being the key focus. Some key influences include Joe Lovano, Joe Henderson and John Coltrane.
Dave studied Jazz Drum-kit at the Royal Academy of Music with many influential drummers such as Jim Hart, Martin France, Gene Calderazzo, Tim Giles & Jeff Williams. Since completing his studies he has quickly established himself as one of the busiest drummers on the London jazz scene playing regularly at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Kansas Smittys, The 606 & The Vortex Jazz Club.
The trio is completed by two of London's finest and most in demand players, Kenny Wheeler Prize winner Tom Barford (Barry Green Sextet, Gareth Lockrane Big Band) and Conor Chaplin (Dinosaur, Flying Machines, Fabled) who bring a wealth of experience through years of playing with many of the world's top musicians.
