Darkly Artful presents: Dear Robot + Saint Betty

Feb 26 2017 19:00 - 23:00

Jamboree, 566 Cable St, E1W 3HB London

This month's line up sees ethereal synths and 'The National'esque vocals collide with Balkan folk in a two act extravaganza of beautiful sounds.

Dear Robot is an Atmospheric Indie Pop band based in London, Stroud and Leipzig. Pooling influences from Radiohead, Arvo Pärt and the Cocteau Twins, the three-piece create a unique blend of lyrical, expansive, synth laden guitar pop. The trio are currently recording their debut EP entitled New Harmony.

Olivia and Bertie met on the Orkney island of Egilsay nearly 3 years ago. They bonded over their love of balkan music and the fact that one of them lived in a boat and the other a van. Saint Betty use their nomadic spirits to write their music. Wherever they go, the mandolin an accordion will be in tow and they will use these as tools to make connections and take inspirations. Last summer was spent exploring Portugal in the van. Over these 2 months they earnt their fuel from busking, met many magical people and found themselves in interesting situations all of which gave birth to songs you will hear this evening.
