Crucial Roots Presents is a series of events aimed at exposing Glasgow to some of the experienced and talented roots sound systems from the UK and beyond – something we don't get much of North of the border.
Where possible, soundmen and selectahs will operate through their own sound systems over extended sessions to give the audience the full effect and depth of their accumulated hard work, knowledge and love for the music and its message.
Through these events we hope to provide an experience of traditional sound system and to cultivate community and oneness within the dance.
For the first dance Crucial Roots are proud to present: Explosion Soundsystem.
Northern Ireland's Original Heavyweight Sound.
Originating from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Explosion Soundsystem have been running dances and sessions since 2002 as well as being a favourite on the local festival scene. Playing and selecting the very best in both classic and modern Roots, Reggae and Dub all played through a custom built rig in the true Jamaican tradition.
A top drawer of selectors and sound men plus the sweet vocal stylings of MC Ranking Fox, Explosion is guaranteed to nice up the dance.
Warming up the event will be Crucial Roots joined by MC and friend Tom Spirals.
